BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — Fast cars and old friends.

That’s what the Bloomington Gold Corvette and Camero Car Show provides.

People travel from all over the world to come to the Bloomington-Normal area to attend the event, show off their car, or just enjoy the cars at the show

Guy Larsen, the president of Bloomington Gold, says there’s a lot about this event anyone can enjoy.

To those just passing by, it may look like just a car show, but to the participants, it’s more than just the vehicles.

Werner Meier, a Corvette enthusiast and a member of the Corvette Hall of Fame, says that the friends he’s made along the way are what matters most to him.

“I think we all get into this hobby for the cars because we love the cars and the performance and the mystique,” he said.

“But we stay in it because of the people. When I go to these shows today, it’s not to look at the cars, it’s to see our old friends.
