Located in Hollywood, California, the El Capitan is also known as the Hollywood Masonic Temple.
Designed by John C.
Austin, the building was finished in 1921.
From the abovementioned year to 1982, the Hollywood Masonic Temple was operated by a group of freemasons.
In the latter year, the building was sold to Rosita LaBello.
LaBello's ownership was short-lived; she sold the property to Westmark Development after trying to rebrand the landmark as the Hollywood Opera & Theater Company.
In 1998, Westmark sold the property to The Walt Disney Company.
Disney Worldwide Services, Inc.
now owns the building.
